GAMIING
has a greenhouse and nursery beds on 3.5 acres of land with demonstration sites for naturalized gardens, such as wetland, xeriscape (low or no water), vegetable and herb gardens. In the greenhouse and nursery we grow native trees, shrubs and plants from local seed sources and propagate from local stock.
Nursery hours: Thursday/Friday/Saturday 10:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.

For a hard copy of the Native Plant Catalogue & Naturalized Garden Guide 2008 (with colour photos), information on available plants or assistance with your landscaping, gardening or restoration project, please contact Erin Gallagher, GAMIING Nursery Coordinator, 705-799-7083.
We use these plants in shoreline restoration and landscape naturalization projects. We also sell them individually during our business hours. We can only accept cash or cheques at the nursery. We apologize for any inconvenience.
Native plants have high survival rates and require little maintenance since they are conditioned to our climate and soils. They also provide habitat, produce food and supply shelter for the indigenous creatures they have evolved along side of. For more information on why to choose native plants, please contact Erin.
Native plants are beautiful; some are subtle and others striking, often unique and even strange, wild and wonderful.
The GAMIING property is an example of natural landscaping that works with the soil and water conditions of our region. We are working on a series of demonstration gardens that will enhance the beauty and biodiversity of our region and give visitors an instant vision of the beauty of local flora, the positive impacts of natural gardens and what can be created on their properties. As well as our nursery beds, we currently have vegetable and herb gardens, and substantial naturalized shoreline demonstrations along our stream and ponds, as well as on the lakefront. This year we are creating a wetland garden and a xeriscape ("dry") garden. (We're always looking for volunteers so if you'd like to trade your time to gain knowledge of native plants, lakeshore and/or landscape management, please contact Erin!)
We have several demonstration sites selected for future gardens, such as butterfly, bee, medicinal and edible plant gardens and these will be associated with upcoming workshops. In conjunction with the workshops, these demonstration sites will allow homeowners to learn how to work with the conditions of their property to create naturally beautiful landscapes.
