Kawartha Conservation
This watershed-based environmental organization manages natural resource features which are essential for sustaining water quality and quantity. Its many programs and services include watershed planning, stewardship, environmental monitoring and research, and management of conservation and natural areas.

Kawartha Lake Stewards Association

KLSA is a nonprofit volunteer organization of cottagers and year-round residents formed to monitor the water quality of the Kawartha Lakes, from Shadow and Balsam Lakes downstream to Katchewanooka and White Lakes. KLSA represents 19 cottager associations on more than a dozen lakes along the Trent Severn Waterway.

The Land Between
This progam of the Couchiching Conservancy and the Kawartha Heritage Conservancy aims to enhance the environmental, cultural and economic health and vitality of The Land Between — an "ecotone" (transition zone) which lies between the Canadian Shield and the St. Lawrence Lowlands stretching across south-central Ontario from Georgian Bay to Kingston.

The Ontario Ecotourism Society
Canada's first province-wide organization for the development and promotion of ecotourism and sustainable tourism practices is a non-profit network led by a volunteer board of directors, with a supporting membership within Ontario's ecotourism and tourism industries, as well as concerned public and visitors of Ontario. In December 2008, TOES released their first edition of the "Responsible Suppliers Guide (for travel and tourism in Ontario)," downloadable in PDF format here.

A non-profit NGO coordinating the efforts of over 500 Ontario environmental groups, OEN provides a central referral service for anyone seeking environmental information, organizes workshops and conferences, publishes resource materials, facilitates issue-specific caucuses, and maintains a database of Ontario environmental groups as well as a delegate database for public consultations.

Society of Environmental Journalists
The mission of SEJ, a nonprofit based in Pennsylvania, is to advance public understanding of environmental issues by improving the quality, accuracy, and visibility of environmental reporting. While the organization exists to serve its membership of journalists, academics and students, the website is a veritable fountain of publicly available, impartial information such as a searchable Useful Links database with >1500 entries; a daily news digest of environmental stories; a biweekly TipSheet of the latest information on environmental issues of all kinds, including viewpoints from industry, government and advocacy groups; and much more. Vancouver Aquarium
Canada's largest aquarium is a non-profit organization dedicated to the conservation of aquatic life through display, interpretation, education, research, and direct action. One of the largest conservation initiatives of the Vancouver Aquarium is the annual TD Great Canadian Shoreline Cleanup, for which Gamiing is a local Site Coordinator, leading cleanups in both Bobcaygeon and Lindsay, Ontario.
