Events at GAMIING NATURE CENTRE

GAMIING hosts a series of events during the year which are fun for families and friends but always focus on encouraging eco-awareness and stewardship of our natural resources. Yes, we can have fun and be good to the earth at the same time. Come and help us celebrate!

Gamiing Smudging (December 3 2011, 4:00pm - 5:30pm)
    "Smudging" is a powerful cleansing technique from the Native American tradition
    Being thankful for what Mother Earth has given us during the Summer and the Harvest, this smudging session will start by thanking and welcoming the new season.
    Insight will be given into how smudging can be used in your own home. Please bring something from your harvast or some baked goods to share.
    After the ceremony you are invited to join drinking tea or coffe and share food.
    Judy Hooymeyer will lead the ceremony. She is a member of the Ojibwa Firdt Nations and a member of the Board of Directors of Gamiing.

Winterlude (February 20st, 2012 - Familly Day)
This for kids of all ages to participate in fun winter activities that include snowshoeing, cross country skiing, guided trail walks, games and warm refreshments. Bring your family and spend a fun filled day at Gamiing Nature Centre. Admission as always is by donation. Any funds raised are going directly to our Eco Guardian Program.

Easter Eco-Egg Hunt (April 7, 2012)
GAMIING will be hosting an easter egg hunt for all families. Our trails are open for recreational activities and games are available for the day.

Wild-About-Water-Walk (May 13th, 2012)
GAMIING will be hosting a walk-a-thin to help raise awareness to protect and conserve our drinking water.

Summer Lakeshore Festival (June 16th, 2012)
GAMIING hosts itís annual Lakeshore summer musical festival for all audiences to help raise funds and environmental awareness. Come share a day with us and see great local talent.

Golf Tournament (September 20th, 2012)
GAMIING hosts a fund raising golf tournament for all friends and family to enjoy. A full day of golf followed by a dinner a prizes.

Great Canadian Shoreline Cleanup (September 22th-24th)
Gamiing Nature Centre will again be participating in the Great Canadian Shoreling Cleanup.

Fall Festival (October 20th, 2012)
What is there not to celebrate of the fall. Beautiful colours all around us, cooler weather and a great opportunity to walk the trails in all their fall beauty. This year come join us for fall themed games, crafts and activities. Enter our colouring, costume or craft contests. Come enjoy a chili dinner, haunted house, bonfire and possible star gazing workshop! Print the colouring Page (see below), colour it and bring it with you to the fall festival!
